Countless movies have been made about a spirited young boy whose love for a favored pet pull them both out of sticky situations. Rarely is one made where the pet in question is a bull.

But that's the premise of The Brave One, a family drama that looks like it might have been made by Disney but wasn't. The subject is approached with sincerity and simplicity and makes for a fine, warmhearted film.
