Yet another cheesy sci-fi movie with a tired old simplistic social moral. The acting is stiff, the characters unmemorable, and this all makes for dry, dreary viewing. The film's one minor stroke of inspiration is the heavy red tint to the shots on Mars: besides being a successful effect in its own right, it helps make other effects work that surely would have looked (more) unconvincing otherwise.
