Three Edgar Allan Poe stories are adapted and bundled together in this Roger Corman horror film from 1962. Vincent Price, a Corman regular, stars in all three. The middle segment, featuring Peter Lorre as a derelict knowledgeable about wines, is the best and most memorable. The other two are only so-so. Overblown acting and poorly timed pacing mar the third segment, which had the most potential.
