This is a lame wholly unbelievable spy thriller with a bit of romance on the side. A romance between an American agent and a Russian agent must have looked like a good idea on paper, but not one moment of this badly thought out story is even remotely plausible. Nothing about a movie turns me off more than seeing characters do things that are so transparently motivated by the irrational demands of a bad plot. Few of the characters are truly characters at all; most are devices to stand in where space must be filled and be manipulated as needed.
