This French film would be an exciting musketeer story if it weren't so talky. The beginning looks promising: lively acting, lush decor, and a joyous playfulness suggest that an exciting swashbuckler will follow, but before long the movie gets mired in idle verbosity. Still, stars Sophie Marceau and Philippe Noiret are fun to watch and have a highly entertaining chemistry together. Fans of the genre will likely be pleased.
