Robert Redford's best film as director tells the story of the quiz show scandal that disillusioned television viewers in the early days of the medium. Ralph Fiennes is excellent as the reigning quiz show champion, who learns to like fame, but John Turturro is the scene-stealer as the prior champion instructed to take a dive.
