This well made adaptation of Jane Austen's novel, Persuasion, kicked off a whole line of Austen adaptations that continued into the following year. The film is good, but unlikely to bring Austen's work to any new audiences. Unlike the superior Sense and Sensibility, made later the same year, Persuasion is for literature enthusiasts and/or Austen fans only.
