Robert Montgomery directs himself in this hilarious comedy co-starring Ann Blyth. The two stars are impeccably cast: Blyth is top notch, and few can look as funny in outrageously embarrassing situations as Montgomery. The plot is this: a military reserve is called into active duty to get close to a woman whose boyfriend is a jewel thief. With that kind of plot synopsis, experienced moviegoers may be thinking, "Oh, she'll hate him at first, and then she'll warm up to him, and then they'll both fall in love for real." You couldn't be more wrong, and believe me when I say the film takes full advantage of the comic possibilities at hand.
