Maid In Manhattan is a strict formula romantic comedy. Knowing that, the only other thing you need to know is whether or not the leads, Jennifer Lopez and Ralph Fiennes, have an intriguing chemistry between them. They do. But, interestingly, the main assets of this film are two supporting characters, Bob Hoskins and Tyler Posey, the latter playing Lopez's ten year old son. Most movie kids are either irritating brats or unrealistically mature geniuses. Posey plays a kid who is wise beyond his years without being unconvincing as a ten year old. He's funny, too. While Maid In Manhattan breaks no new ground and has a questionable understanding of the working class, it should please fans of the genre and/or the stars.
