Reviews and Comments

One of Abbott and Costello's later comedies, Lost In Alaska is bogged down by a lack of creativity and pacing that wears out before the movie's over (the ending hits the floor with an almost audible thud). The film's few funny scenes include one where Abbott and Costello take turns keeping watch during the night and co-star Tom Ewell's continual attempts to commit suicide. Also, I'm not positive, but I think there's a subtle reference to Willie and Joe, the comic strip characters brought to the silver screen by the previous year's Up Front, which starred Tom Ewell. Ewell played Willie in that movie. Here he plays a character named Joe who makes a reference to another character named Willie.
