Keep 'Em Flying (1941)

Reviews and Comments

Though flawed by inelegant editing and uneven pacing, Keep 'Em Flying is nevertheless a high point among Abbott and Costello's early films. It's as hampered down by incongruous musical sequences as many of them, and, strangely enough, we actually care about the supporting characters and their stories. A climactic rescue, for example, plays better than the surrounding comic sequences.

Martha Raye, playing twin sisters, is a delight: she has some nice scenes with Lou Costello in which she's as funny as he is. It's a wonder and a shame she never starred with him again.
