Reviews and Comments

Abbott and Costello In Society is a natural vehicle for the comic duo, and for the most part it works well. The songs, however, are awful with only one or two exceptions. Throw-away songs are rarely assets in Abbott and Costello flicks, but most of them in this one are poor at best. But the comedy is funny, especially one sequence where havoc is wreaked with the plumbing in a bathroom. Abbott and Costello's comic energy is noticeably fresher here than it became in their later years.
