The animation is crude, the story lacking in subtext, and the comedy trying too hard. And yet -- and yet, once this film got going, it won me over. Perhaps it's because I'm a sucker for this kind of storytelling: the same story (nominally, that of Little Red Riding Hood) is told four times, from four different perspectives, and each telling explains puzzles from the previous tellings and reveals more of the big picture.
Before the second telling and after the fourth, the film is just a bit too hyper for its own good. But the intrigue and creativity involved in intertwining the four separate stories into one is quite entertaining. For optimal results, watch this when you're in a very, very silly mood.
