I knew a movie called Fire Maidens From Outer Space would be bad, but I didn't expect it to be boring. This cheesy low budget genre flick is mind-numbingly banal, containing an astonishing percentage of lingering shots of nothing in particular. The plot concerns the discovery that one of Jupiter's moons has an atmosphere remarkably like Earth's. From this realization stems the near assumption that it must therefore house not only life but human life. There's only one way to find out, one of the scientists astutely observes, so off go five identical astronauts in a rocket, sans visible space gear of any kind, to go see. What feels like a year later, they land and spend an inordinate amount of time running around, lying around, and sitting around while they run into a boring handful of beautiful women and a humanoid monster that prowls around yelling, "Rrraaahhh! Rrraaahhh!" Not one "character" in the film emerges as an individual, and not one passage of dialogue rises above the mechanical.
