Fighting For My Daughter is a rarity among soap opera-esque family tragedy TV movies. It's compelling. I'm not fond of this genre. Usually I find made-for-TV movies and their banal dialogue and staging very tiresome, and this production was weighted down with many of these weaknesses. But this movie also portrays the sleaze and slime and cruelty of the street so vividly that when a sixteen year old girl gets mixed up in it, she had my concern. In spite of any flaws or routine this movie may have, I have to credit it for that.
