Satyajit Ray directed, co-wrote, and composed the music for this acclaimed drama Ashani Sanket (Distant Thunder in English) about rice. Specifically, about families coping with the lack thereof in World War II India. It's an "art" film, and a great one. The trouble is, it's as interesting as contemplating palm wrinkles. Frankly, when a movie is that tedious, I don't care how much art is on display.
