This colorful production starring Betty Grable and Dick Haymes is a typical but better-than-average musical comedy from the forties: elaborate, grand-scale numbers and amusing comedy bits spliced in to a lightweight love story. While hardly groundbreaking, Diamond Horseshoe is a pleasant, sweet-tempered film -- a welcome relief from many modern films played for shock value -- with plenty of nostalgia to go around.
