Bud Abbott and Lou Costello made one film more than they should have. Dance With Me, Henry is a dramatic step down from their past efforts. It's unusually sentimental, but that's not the problem -- it's just not funny. The slapstick climax is painfully unfunny.
Oddly, there is exactly one funny gag, and it's delivered by Abbott, not Costello. It's a crack about a gangster's aim with a gun. Thank heaven for that little gag.
