Neil Simon has written much better plays than this one, but this lightweight comedy about two brothers, one who leads a careless, thrill-seeking life, and the other who idolizes the first. Their parents, both hilarious scene-stealers, disapprove, particularly the eternally captious father, who always seems to be disowning his children. The film is uneven, shifting between sparkling moments and uninspired stretches, but ultimately it works.
