It's nice to see a family action thriller that doesn't overcompensate in pulling its punches for the benefit of the younger crowd. It won't scare the average kid, yet it's still entertaining for adults. Henry Thomas and Dabney Coleman make aimable heroes, although the villains aren't very distinctive.
