Teaming Mel Gibson with Goldie Hawn wasn't a bad idea, but cramming in chase scene after chase scene without an ounce of interspersing characterization most certainly was. Besides being overridden with cliches, what there is to the movie isn't bad; it's the substance it lacks that's the problem. But you may not realize it until it's all over and you feel curiously unsatisfied -- so it's at least good enough for a temporary diversion.
