Writer-director-star Woody Allen parodies Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream and Bergman's Smiles of a Summer Night in this sometimes brilliant, sometimes meandering comedy about tangled romances at a weekend get-together in the country. It has its moments, but it's frustratingly unfocused, and when it's over, we're not sure that we've really gotten anywhere. Not bad, but a far cry from Allen's best work.
