John Travolta stars in this court room drama about a lawyer who runs himself into the ground in a spoiled drinking water case. The lawsuit itself is not so interesting as the characters: Travolta's, and also one of the defendant's, played by Robert Duvall. The film is compelling, yet it never quite builds up the level of involvement it's shooting for. While not a great film, A Civil Action is very good and, from a technical standpoint, quite admirable.
