Influencing the prices is permissible to an extent.
For obvious reasons, I certainly don't mind if a player wants to help
his standing in the game by hitting, or encouraging hits to, a
particular feature on a particular day in an attempt to inflate the
price. However, in the interests of fairness, this type of influence
is restricted. Violators will lose any earnings won from these
tactics and will be made ineligible to win or be ranked with
the other players. In extreme cases, they will be removed from the
game.
- Visiting a page in the hopes of increasing its price for the
following day is legal. Reloading a page many times just
to increase hits is not.
- Telling your friends about a feature is legal. Spamming those
you don't know, whether by email, newsgroup, or other medium,
is not.
- Don't submit anything to search engines. I take care of that
myself; besides, when a site is included in a search engine,
the traffic increase is not immediate or regular, so it
wouldn't help you anyway.
Basically this is the wrong way to go about playing the game anyway.
The fun is in attempting to predict fluctuations in price without
influencing it.
