Domain Name Day is the anniversary of RinkWorks move to its own domain name, www.rinkworks.com, which occurred in 1998. Prior to that, RinkWorks was hosted on a university's mainframe. CGI scripts were not permitted -- now it's hard to imagine RinkWorks without them -- and disk space was limited to 15 or so megs.

When RinkWorks moved to its own domain name, a giant world of new things were available to it; it wasn't long before a search engine went up on At-A-Glance Film Reviews and The Dialectizer became one of RinkWorks' most popular features.
