Rosenbaums Alternative 100
When AFI premeired it's Top 100 American Movies, Johnathan Rosenbaum(among many critics) felt it was a rather drab and boring list. Most of the list seemed to simply promote already commercially successful films so that even more money would be made off of the renewed intrest in the films(A few exceptions, like Citizen Kane, which was never commercial successful but few are unreluctant to argue with its critical acclaim). If Rosebaum were to make an alternative list completely from scratch, it would not doubt include some films represented on the AFI, but has refreained from doing so. His list is also alphabetical, because cases can also be made to propose one film was more important than the other or vice versa.
