There is no doubt that this movie is intentionally bad. However, that shouldn't stop you from watching it -- it is quite entertaining.
The start of the movie is *very* confusing. Although it appears that Ash(ley) has gone back to the same cabin with a new girlfriend, I think it is supposed to be a recap from the previous movie (*really* oversimplified by removing all the other characters and changing the actual events a little).
Once the confusion from the first few scenes wears away, we end up exactly where the first movie left off (with the camera chasing Ash, who turns around and screams). Ash is thrown into a large puddle of water, where he lays for about a minute and blows a tremendous amount of bubbles. Ash suddenly rises, and we discover that he has become one of the evil dead. Fortunately for him, the sunlight drives away the evil spirits, and he runs back to the cabin where he is forced to cut off his hand with a chainsaw (it went berserk for some reason). Then there are some *really* random and pointless scenes -- so I'll just name the most memorable: Ash looks out the window and sees his old girlfriend dance and leap off into the forest. I almost passed out from lauging at this.
To help develop the "plot," four more people are introduced. Interestingly enough, these people arrive at the cabin to read and study a few pages from the "book of the dead" (you know, the one that was destroyed in part one). They see Ash with a bloody chainsaw and assume he killed the owners, so they lock him in the basement.
Then there are some more pointless, yet very entertaining scenes.
Eventually everyone is killed (except Ash), and the evil dead are banished into a...time rift!?
I won't ruin the ending -- because it is BAD.
Overall, this sequel is far worse than the original, making it very worthwhile to watch. (Not quite as gory either, for those weak of heart. )
Rating: 4 turkeys.
Scene to watch for: Ash's old girlfriend does a dance.
Best line: "Groovy."
Things that make you go "Huh?": That whole laughing scene.
